Windows Enterprise LTSC is the Long-Term Servicing Channel edition. It is optimized for superior stability and lower system resource consumption. Please make sure to install the official retail version instead of the evaluation copy.

Can I enter the product key during Windows installation?

Can a Windows Pro key directly upgrade a Windows Home system?
No. A Pro product key is only used to activate a pre-installed Windows Pro system. You need to upgrade or reinstall your system to Windows Pro first.

This error mainly occurs when your system version does not match the product key (e.g. using a Pro key on Windows 10/11 Home). The basic fix is to install the correct system edition.

How to activate Windows Server evaluation edition?
You need to convert the evaluation version to retail edition via PowerShell first, then finish activation with your key. Follow the steps:
1.Launch PowerShell as Administrator.
2.Enter dism /online /get-currentedition and press Enter.
3.Enter dism /online /get-targeteditions and press Enter.
4.Run the command: dism /online /set-edition:serverstandard /productkey: yourkey /accepteula and press Enter.
Note: Replace yourkey with your actual product key, do not add brackets.
